Description

Radiance Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a highly qualified Electrical Engineer to support a U.S. Army Space Program. This role involves the development and deployment of a space-based RF payload, contributing across multiple phases of the systems engineering lifecycle including Software-in-the-Loop (SWIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL).

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze RF and electrical subsystems for space-based payloads, including transmit/receive chains, power systems, and signal processing hardware.
  • Develop and validate RF link budgets, noise figures, and dynamic signal ranges to ensure system performance under mission conditions.
  • Lead and support integration and testing of electrical components in both lab and HWIL environments.
  • Create electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and interface control documents (ICDs) to support system development and integration.
  • Conduct simulations using MATLAB® and/or Python to model RF and electrical system behavior, evaluate design trade-offs, and automate test processes.
  • Support space system environmental and electrical qualification efforts, including EMI/EMC, thermal, and vibration testing.
  • Participate in system-level reviews (DCR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and contribute electrical engineering content and risk assessments.
  • Ensure configuration management of electrical hardware, software tools, and test equipment throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB® and/or Python for Modeling and Simulation.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Digital Engineering, and MBSE methodologies.
  • Experience with space systems development and lifecycle processes.
  • Experience in creating electrical schematics.
  • Experience in creating electrical ICDs.
  • Experience completing design trade studies.
  • Experience working in a lab testing electrical components and subsystems.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Prior experience with space payload manufacturing, integration, or deployment.
  • Prior experience in RF engineering.
  • Prior experience in custom PCB design.
  • Prior experience using VHDL (or similar) for FPGA firmware design.
  • Prior experience with FPGAs.
  • Prior experience capturing RF Signals of Opportunity for PNT/Alt PNT.
  • Active SECRET clearance.
