Description:

CREATE SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS WITH A TEAM OF EXPERTS

COWI has a strong position in Norway within transportation and is experiencing high demand for the major development projects that are coming. To meet the growing demand for sustainable transportation, we are looking for a junior or senior electrical engineer to join our team. We are around 70 employees within the different railway disciplines in Norway. Together with customers, partners and contractors, we are working on some of Norway’s most significant transportation projects and are excited to contribute to projects like Fornebubanen, Bybanen Bergen and Hamar stasjon. We have many more projects in sight and have large and exciting tender processes underway.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Design and plan electrical installations in railway, metro and light rail projects
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and with clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, reports, calculations and models.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical knowledge
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards and regulations
  • Be a Discipline Lead in smaller or larger projects.

YOUR SKILLS. OUR TEAM. TOGETHER WE DESIGN THE FUTURE.

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you will have:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Alternatively, relevant trade certificate (fagbrev) and tertiary vocational education (teknisk fagskole), as well as minimum 3 years of relevant experience after completing the education.

Extensive relevant experience may compensate for formal education.

  • Preferably minimum 3 years of relevant experience from consulting, contracting or other relevant fields of business.
  • Preferably experience with modelling in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in both Norwegian and English.

COWI has customers and projects that may require security clearance at various levels. There may therefore be requirements for security clearance in some projects/positions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and plan electrical installations in railway, metro and light rail projects
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and with clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, reports, calculations and models.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical knowledge
