SAIC has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer to support of multiple projects under the Multi-functional Assembly Lab (MFAL) located at Redstone/Huntsville, AL. The MFAL team is a diverse group of electrical, electronic, and mechanical, engineers and technicians with a wide variety of skill sets that support multiple military projects with quality solutions to the needs of America's War Fighters. JOB DESCRIPTION: Fabrication and assembly of prototype and production level military cables, harnesses, assemblies/sub-assemblies (IPC/WHMA-A-620), soldering (IPC J-STD), verification testing, and quality checks Assisting with technical solutions to engineering problems Research, design, development, modification, and evaluation of a variety of electronic equipment and systems using electronic principles, theories, and concepts REQUIRED EDUCATION: BS degree and two (2) years of related experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree REQUIRED SKILLS: Knowledge of basic electronics, electronic components, and mechanical assembly Knowledge of military cable and harnessing, soldering, rework and repair of printed circuit assemblies (IPC certification a plus) Knowledge of electronic bench equipment such as power supplies, and multimeters Some experience troubleshooting of printed circuit assemblies to board level Capable of interpreting drawings, schematics, and work instructions to a class 3/military level Knowledge of basic hand tools to include crimping tools, electronic test equipment, voltmeters Capable of organizing workflow for multiple projects Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Willingness to operate fork lifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks and other basic shop equipment Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Must have an active Secret Security Clearance
Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer will be involved in the fabrication and assembly of military cables and electronic systems, as well as providing technical solutions to engineering problems. Responsibilities also include research, design, development, and evaluation of electronic equipment.
