Description
SAIC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Improved Data Modem (IDM) Open Systems Remanufacture (OSR) effort in Huntsville, AL. This position will focus on the component-level and system-level design, along with experience in software-to-electrical layout. The Electrical Engineer will work on designing, developing, and optimizing electrical components and systems that meet the needs of the IDM OSR. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible but not limited to the following: Analyze and improve existing electrical components to enhance performance and reliability. Conduct testing and validation of component prototypes to ensure they meet design specifications. Develop and integrate electrical systems and subsystems to ensure optimal performance and compatibility. Create detailed system architecture designs and define interface requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration meets program needs. Develop electrical schematics and layout designs using software such as SolidWorks, Altium Designer, or similar tools. Interface software design with electrical components to ensure seamless integration and functionality. Perform simulation and analysis to predict system behavior and troubleshoot potential issues. Prepare and maintain detailed documentation including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure electrical design elements meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Required Education: Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years’ experience; additional four (4) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of degree. Required Clearance: Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required. Required Skills: Proficiency in designing and developing electrical components and systems Experience in integrating software design with electrical components Proficiency with design software such as SolidWorks, Altium Designer, or similar tools. Capability to conduct testing and validation of component prototypes, perform simulations and analysis to predict system behavior, and prepare detailed documentation including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
