This is a key leadership role requiring deep expertise in electrical engineering, space systems, and classified programs, with a proven track record of industry contributions and technical excellence.

REQUIREMENTS

This role involves working on classified space acquisition programs that span the entire acquisition life cycle, supporting the U.S. Space Force, Air Force, and other mission partners. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in electrical and electronic phenomena, system design, and energy transmission, along with experience in ground, near-space, and space-based systems.
1. Lead Engineering Efforts: Provide SME-level guidance in electrical and electronic system design, development, testing, and integration for space-based and ground-based systems.
2. Technical Leadership: Act as a recognized thought leader in the field, providing expert recommendations on space domain awareness, defensive/offensive space control, and battle management technologies.
3. System Design & Analysis: Utilize deep technical knowledge to design, develop, and analyze complex electrical systems for mission-critical space applications.
4. Acquisition Support: Advise on contracting, risk assessments, system lifecycle management, and acquisition strategies for high-priority defense projects.
5. Modeling & Simulation: Lead advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) efforts to develop space protection architectures and alternative mission concepts.
6. Program Management Reviews: Support technical reviews, risk assessments, and system safety evaluations to ensure compliance with DoD standards and best practices.
7. Cyber & Security: Ensure cybersecurity best practices are integrated into system designs, in alignment with DoDI 8500.01 and classified DoD cyber directives.
8. Training & Mentorship: Provide on-the-job and classroom training to Government personnel, sharing expertise in electrical engineering, acquisition strategies, and system integration.
9. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with government agencies, FFRDCs, contractors, and mission partners to drive technical innovation and operational success.
10. Work Environment:
a. Work will be conducted at Government-approved locations (see list above), with potential for remote work (up to 20%) based on mission requirements.
b. Travel may be required (CONUS & OCONUS) for technical engagements, program reviews, and government meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, focusing on space-based and defense-related systems.
  2. Recognized industry leader and SME with a demonstrated impact on space and defense engineering.
  3. Expertise in power distribution, signal processing, RF systems, energy transmission, and system integration.
  4. Active Secret Clearance required; TS/SCI eligibility preferred.
  5. Experience in classified space acquisition programs and knowledge of DoD security protocols.
  6. Strong background in space system lifecycle management, risk assessment, and program execution.
  7. Proficiency in relevant engineering software, modeling tools, and DoD acquisition frameworks.
  8. Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts to senior leadership and stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Experience with DoD and Space Force acquisition strategies and technical documentation.
  3. Familiarity with AI/ML applications in electrical engineering for space systems.
  4. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, encryption technologies, and space-based communication protocols.
