Job Summary: SMSI is seeking Electrical Engineers to work onsite at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM. The Electrical Engineer will perform a full range of design engineering responsibilities in support of facility design, operation, and maintenance activities. This role requires applying broad and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and DOE‑complex requirements. Due to multiple openings, there are positions which require 3 years of experience but also positions that require a minimum of 6 years of experience. * Work schedule is typically 4-10s during regular business hours, working either: Monday-Thursday, Thursday-Sunday, or Friday-Monday. Responsibilities: * Perform conventional engineering design, analysis, and calculations. * Develop, review, and support engineering design packages. * Provide construction, field, and project engineering support. * Work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi‑discipline team. * Apply engineering technology and tools to deliver high‑quality work. * Interface with stakeholders across disciplines in a fast‑paced environment. Required Skills: * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution. * Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience required for Engineer 2. * Minimum 6 years of relevant engineering experience required for Engineer 3. * Working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering. * Proven knowledge of commonly applied codes and standards at DOE and DoD facilities (e.g., NQA‑1, IBC, NFPA, NEC). * Prior experience facilitating and developing engineering design packages. * Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables (e.g., construction documents). * Experience with computer‑aided design/drafting software or markup tools. * Design experience in power and familiarity with low power,
