Within our Transmission & Distribution team, we deliver mission-critical design packages that transform the reliability, availability, and efficiency of the energy network, moving it towards a greener, more sustainable future. Department highlights include:

  • Driving complex design delivery: We design AIS/GIS substations from 20kV to 220kV and contestable build and non-contestable stations in the range of 40 to 550MVA CCGT. Connections include conventional and renewable Power Generation, Peaking, Battery Storage, DS3 and Solar PV plants and large demand loads such as data centres and process plants.
  • Delivery of high-complexity design frameworks: NeoDyne is a gas network design framework supplier, playing a significant role in providing electrical and instrumentation engineering services for the on-shore Natural Gas Industry and Regulated gas utility sector in Ireland and the UK. Our expertise include Compressor Station, AGI Electrical & Instrumentation design, Fiscal and non-Fiscal metering, and Cathodic Protection.

With a team of 220+ skilled engineers, our expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, from design and implementation to commissioning and operations. POSITION SUMMARY

NeoDyne are recruiting an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our expanding Transmission & Distribution team. The successful candidate will support projects including Low Voltage (LV) pharmaceutical plants, and wind farm and solar farm substations. Prior experience in these areas is highly desirable but not essential.
The role is offered as a full-time staff position, based at our Cork Office, with an excellent Salary and Benefits package. EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Required

  • Level 8 Degree in Electrical, Energy Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in electrical or automation engineering.
  • PLC Programming Experience: Siemens/ Allen-Bradley/ Schneider.
  • HMI / SCADA Experience: Siemens / Rockwell/ AVEVA / Schneider.
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring.
  • Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).

Desired

  • Knowledge and experience in the Energy sector
  • Experience using the following softwares: EPLAN/ AutoCAD/ Amtech/ Primtech/ Elek.
  • Knowledge of Excel for calculations.
Responsibilities
  • Designing electrical control systems and instrumentation for power generation and energy systems.
  • Developing detailed schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Producing drawings, wiring schematics, lists and data sheets using AutoCAD and EPLAN.
  • Developing PLC and SCADA software for control and monitoring systems.
  • Overseeing the installation of control systems and instrumentation equipment.
  • Collaborating with technicians and contractors to ensure proper implementation.
  • Undertaking Factory and Site Acceptance Testing.
  • Commissioning of control systems in the field.
  • Providing guidance and training to junior and graduate engineers.
