The Role We are seeking a multidisciplinary electrical engineering technician. On a day-to-day basis, you will assemble, test, and maintain electrical systems. Ideally, you will have experience in electro-mechanical systems, a passion for problem solving and direct experience in an electronics lab. What You’ll Do Collaborate with electrical engineers and manufacturers to build, route, and install and complex cable harnesses, and wiring assemblies for robotic systems Use a variety of wire crimpers and use good crimping techniques to manufacture a reliable robot Perform PCBA inspection, assembly, and surface mount rework Disassemble and debug robotic systems Provide prompt feedback to improve cable routing or assembly on robotic systems Review schematics and cable drawings to identify and troubleshoot design problems that arise during the building of electrical systems Inspect designs for quality control, report findings, and make recommendations. Document, diagram and write specifications for assembly and rework. Maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment. Set up test equipment and evaluate the performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems and then analyze test information to resolve design-related problems. Maintain electrical equipment and re-stock used supplies Great communication, written and collaborative skills. Make prototypes according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and basic knowledge of electronics is a plus Proficiency with Windows, Linux experience is a plus Requirements Associates in Electrical Engineering/Technology or relevant work experience Five plus years of hands-on work on electronics/electro-mechanical systems.
