Due to continued success, we are currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will report on a project basis to the project manager.
In conjunction with your project team, you will be responsible for the execution of various stages of a project as follows:
· Complete electrical design review to identify design gaps and deviations or contradictions in the specifications.
· Validate Panel Schematics and cable sizing and make recommendations as appropriate.
· Assist in researching suppliers and selecting plant & equipment that meets the project design specifications and making Technical Submittals to the design team for approval.
· Create and manage submittals through the approvals process, track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment and complete the receipt verification process once the equipment is delivered.
· Update and record progress on system trackers which are fully aligned with the construction schedule.
· Review the electrical installation with the BIM team to ensure the design is constructible and that there is adequate space for installation and maintenance of all equipment and cabling.
· Assist with snag & variations management by flagging any issues on site and raising it with the relevant person and working with the project QS to submit costs for any additional works.
· Preparation of project schedules, material take offs and out to market / supplier schedules.
· Assist with the procurement of materials, equipment and services.
· Prepare project programs using MS project.
· Seek to clarify queries with the design team through the request for information (RFI) system.
· Attend technical meetings with members of the design team, contractors, and in-house project team.
· Carry out document control, recording & transmitting information.
· Assist in the preparation of method statements and risk assessments for production activities.
· Carry out Quality Control through inspections and snagging.
· Preparation of test packs for recording the completion of systems.
· Create and manage commissioning schedules plus assist with commissioning of all systems installed.
· Assist in ensuring the adherence to safety and quality standards.
· Ensuring all latest building and electrical design standards and regulations are adhered to.
· Liaise with the design team & supply chain to ensure correct operation of the plant on site & successful handover.
· Creation of installed drawings and assist in the creation of project O&M manuals.
· Capable of walking down electrical systems to ensure compliance with specification
· Prepare construction / in-house design and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
· Prepare wiring schematics for electrical services such as fire alarm, nurse call, intruder alarm, door access, emergency lighting.
· Carry out lighting design calculations.
· Carry out / review cable and cable containment sizing calculations.
Assist with the preparation of technical documentation for issue of sub-contractor work packages.
