We are looking to add a motivated Electrical Engineer to our growing team to provide leadership and senior-level engineering / technical expertise. Qualified candidates will possess strong communication and leadership skills, a can-do attitude, a high degree of mechanical acumen and a solid understanding of the design release process. Responsibilities Include: Supporting the Equipment Engineering Manager and Electrical Engineering Lead to facilitate high quality and on-time delivery of engineering and design products Using Autocad Electrical to complete detailed 2D schematics and drawings Reviewing own design work for accuracy & completeness and occasional peer reviews Utilizing PDM software to control design changes and managing data transfers into and out of the PDM Collaborating with fellow engineers and technicians to provide subject matter expertise Providing clear direction to technicians for fabrication, installation and repair of machine components Supporting continuous improvement, design for manufacturing and efficiency optimization studies Conducting and supporting design & technical reviews with engineering peers and technical staff Performing and documenting calculations to support design and new product development Supporting Purchasing to develop purchased parts specifications and identify cost-effective alternatives Supporting issue resolution activities during machine builds and performance trials Developing drawings, schematics, and diagrams in accordance with Uniloy and/or industry standards Creating, reviewing, releasing and maintaining BOM’s for new equipment and service offerings Providing clear, collaborative technical input to optimize systems for safety, durability, reliability and cost Other tasks as assigned by reporting Manager Requirements Position Requirements: BSEE from a 4+ year accredited university 3+ years working experience as an Electrical / Design / Applications Engineer Strong proficiency in software related to electrical schematic generation such as Autocad Electrical, etc Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail Team player with strong electrical practical knowledge Effective written and verbal communication skills Preferred Attributes: UL / CE certification, and/or applicable experience related to industrial machinery or equipment Experience using PDM systems like TeamCenter, 3DX, Windchill, etc Experience utilizing simulation tools to optimize component design and electro-mechanical systems Experience performing and checking electrical calculations, panel wiring, and diagnostics Familiarity with program management, time management, planning and scheduling Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (ISO-9001, TS-16949, etc) Experience with electrical component inspection, testing, validation and production approval techniques Work Environment: This is an office-based position that requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, and communicating. The employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc. On occasion, the employee may be expected to perform customer support activities and provide guidance at their locations. In these instances, the employee must have interpersonal skills commensurate with a field service technician who also promotes product sales and further services. Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer will support the Equipment Engineering Manager and Electrical Engineering Lead by creating detailed 2D schematics using Autocad Electrical and managing design changes via PDM software. Responsibilities also include providing technical expertise, directing technicians, supporting continuous improvement, and developing specifications for purchased parts.
