Description WEG has an immediate career opportunity for a progressive, forward thinking, analytical, disciplined, and organized Electrical Engineer in Bluffton, IN. This position is suited to an Electrical Engineer who thrives on delivering high quality, accurate results, while efficiently maintaining and enhancing existing organizational systems and standards. As a member of the technical staff, the electrical engineer is responsible for the design of new electric motors based off of customer specifications, technical support of mature products currently in production, utilizing modern engineering systems and technologies, as well as analyzing and improving old ones. Main Responsibilities Develop, design and test new electric motors to meet customer specifications. Provide customer support for existing products. Evaluate existing motor designs to improve the manufacturability of the motor. Work with other Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to improve energy efficiency of motors. Lead projects to improve engineering tools and processes used to design electric. Provide technical support to other functional areas as needed. Requirements B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. At least 2 years’ experience in AC electric motor design. Motor design software experience e.g. SPEED, Infolytica, ANSYS RMxprt, or equivalent. Familiarity with business software (Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on product quality. Proven experience in project coordination. Physical ability to travel freely within manufacturing and office facilities. This requires climbing stairs and moving over, around, and about shop machinery. Have the Physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Flexibility to eventual travel (domestic and international) to customers, conferences, suppliers. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing both internally & with customers. Ability to learn quickly and thoroughly while recognizing and adapting to changing conditions.
