REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) with proficiency in a technical software package as a plus
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a vibrant multi-disciplinary design environment
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to produce accurate work to strict project deadlines
  • Flexibility to work both in the design office and on construction teams
Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineering Apprentice, your day-to-day role would involve, but would not be limited to the following activities:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
  • Read and interpret schematics and P&IDs and translate into schemes of work
  • Research and analyse vendor/supplier design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the technical content, feasibility, cost and maintenance suitability
  • Manage a wide variety of technical tasks using first engineering principles
  • Become efficient in and understand various technical design packages used to undertake Electrical design activities.
  • Understand project health and safety aspects relating to electrical engineering including CDM and supporting design risk assessments
  • Support senior and principal engineers on live projects with preparation of design deliverables such as:
  • Drawings & schematics
  • Specifications & schedules
  • Data sheets
  • Support the electrical engineering department with administrative tasks to underpin broader learning within the business
