Job Description
AECOM is seeking a passionate Electrical Engineering Discipline Lead to join our dynamic team in Atlanta, GA. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary crew of innovators, expand your expertise, and gain invaluable field experience through travel opportunities. You’ll work on exciting and challenging projects with iconic clients like AFCEC, NAVFAC, and USACE. Ready to build what matters?
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, including civil, structural, and mechanical engineers.
- Provide guidance and training to develop junior engineers and enhance team capabilities.
- Ensure designs follow established project quality procedures and complete required quality control reviews.
- Apply broad and specialized knowledge across multiple disciplines, demonstrating technical expertise and business acumen.
- Manage complex projects, including goal setting, team leadership, and adherence to budget and schedule.
- Solve challenging technical issues, often developing new or improved techniques.
- Implement improvements to methodologies and promote latest trends as opportunities for the business.
- Facilitate broad dialogue across functions, geographies, and business lines, including external stakeholders.
- Serve as lead engineer on mid- to large-size projects, providing specialized technical input and approving work.
- Present complex technical solutions to clients and participate in the development of technical proposals.
- Manage and coordinate activities of a group of engineers and/or technicians, fostering their professional growth.
- Maintain liaison with internal units and external individuals, representing the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and plan work.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 8 years of relevant experience in buildings and facilities engineering with specific experience in the design of modifications to medium and low voltage (up to 15 kV, 480V, etc.) electrical power systems for commercial, government and/or institutional facilities including office tenant space, specialized buildings, utilities and support facilities or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD (4 years), Revit (3 years), Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, SKM or ETAP, AGi32 or similar calculations and modeling software.
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer.
- Due to the nature of work, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License and ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review, as a condition of employment.
- Ability to travel up to one week at a time, dependent on project, within the US and internationally.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Experience with management of personnel.
- Experience with design of AFCEC, NAVFAC, and USACE facilities.
- Experience in leading design of electrical distribution systems of high complexity.
