JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Student with experience in high-power electrical equipment, CAD design, and hands-on testing. This role involves designing, analyzing, and testing electrical systems by performing tasks like creating schematics, running simulations, building prototypes, collecting data, and documenting processes, while gaining hands-on experience with relevant software and hardware. The candidate will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to design, analyze, and optimize powertrain components for maximum performance and reliability.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks, NX) for detailed electrical design and system integration
  • Experience with high-power systems, especially in electrical component integration and testing
  • Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters)
  • Ability to design and execute tests, troubleshoot issues, and optimize designs based on performance data
  • Basic knowledge of electrical design software (e.g., Altium, Eagle, KiCad)
  • Familiarity with control systems and hardware-software interfacing is an asset
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and effective at working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent people and communication skills, both written and verbal are essential
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills required
  • Ability to creatively and independently problem solve is an asset
  • Digitally inclined, with a proficiency with MS Office (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), Google tools (GSuite, Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Calendar, etc.), and project/task management tools (like Asana)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student in an accredited Electrical Engineering program
  • Experience with high-power equipment, CAD design, and integration within mechanical and electrical systems
  • Completed coursework in circuit theory, electronics, and digital systems
  • Authorized to work in the United States
