Description
Role Summary IntelliServ is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to support our R&D and Sustaining team in developing and validating electronic hardware for field-deployed tools and supporting systems. This is a hands-on lab internship focused on prototyping, debug, and test execution. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to real product development work. Key Responsibilities Support prototype build and electronic assembly, including basic rework as needed Assist with PCB bring-up, troubleshooting, and debugging under engineer guidance Use standard lab tools and instrumentation: DMM, oscilloscope, power supplies, and related equipment Help develop, execute, and document test procedures and test results Capture findings clearly in test notes and short reports (what was tested, setup, results, issues found) Assist with schematic/PCB updates and engineering documentation (training provided) Maintain clear, organized lab practices (fixtures, parts, cables, test setups) Work with team members across disciplines to support rapid iteration and issue resolution Required Qualifications Currently pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline) Basic understanding of electronics fundamentals (Ohms Law, power concepts, signal processing, RF) Comfortable learning and working in a lab environment with hands-on tasks Strong attention to detail and ability to document work clearly Ability to work on-site in Provo for lab activities Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have) Soldering experience (through-hole and SMT) Familiarity with Altium Designer (coursework or project experience) Exposure to embedded hardware concepts (UART/I2C/SPI, sensors, power regulation) Prior experience building or running test setups, fixtures, or harnesses Demonstrated personal/academic projects involving electronics build + debug What You’ll Gain Real-world experience taking hardware from prototype to validated design Practical debug and test skills used in professional R&D Mentorship from engineers and exposure to cross-functional product development Submit your resume and (if available) a short project summary (coursework, lab projects, or personal builds are great).
