Job Description AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 9-10, 2025. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026. The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines. On Friday, interviews will take place at our Philadelphia office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities. AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to be based in Philadelphia, PA. This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026. Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. Interns work with cutting-edge technology, learn industry best practices, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a globally recognized firm. The program fosters both technical and professional skill development while providing networking opportunities that can enhance future career prospects. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out tasks. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of science alternatives. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and must have completed at least one of years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship. Preferred Qualifications: Academic focus or coursework in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, or Fire Protection systems Previous internship, co-op, or project-based experience in building systems, infrastructure, or related engineering disciplines Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering design and modeling tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world challenges Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with interest in cross-disciplinary collaboration Demonstrated interest in sustainable design, energy efficiency, or innovative infrastructure solutions Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
