About the Role We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Electrical Estimator to join our projects and minor works team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical aspects of fire protection systems, supporting projects from concept through to delivery. This role requires detailed technical knowledge of fire detection, alarm systems, emergency lighting, and associated electrical infrastructure in compliance with Australian standards and Queensland regulations. Key Responsibilities Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications for upcoming projects and minor works. Interpret fire protection electrical requirements in line with Australian Standards and customer specifications, and relevant building codes. Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and proposals for new installations, upgrades, minor works, and maintenance projects. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and ensure compliance. Attend site inspections and assess conditions for accurate scoping. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to refine scope and value-engineer solutions. Support bid submissions, tender presentations, and customer negotiations. Maintain a database of costs, suppliers, and historical projects for benchmarking. Ensure all estimating activities align with workplace health & safety policies and quality assurance processes. Skills & Qualifications Proven experience in electrical estimating for fire protection systems (minimum 3–5 years preferred). Strong knowledge of Australian Standards (eg. AS 1670), and Queensland Building and Fire Safety Regulations. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and tender documents. Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent detail orientation, numerical accuracy, and organisational skills. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
