JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Electrical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely project estimates. This includes interpreting tender documents, analyzing project requirements, and compiling comprehensive, competitive bids. The role requires strong technical acumen, market awareness, and a collaborative mindset.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience estimating ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) electrical construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, technical specs, and bid documentation.
  • Proficient knowledge of the Ontario and Canadian Electrical Codes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Accubid estimating software.
  • In-depth familiarity with the electrical construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple deadlines independently.
  • Self-starter with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Experience in Power Distribution, EV infrastructure, and related fields.
Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates using estimating software.
  • Prepare bid proposals by quantifying and organizing material, labor, and subcontractor costs.
  • Participate in tender reviews and hand-off meetings with Project Managers and the Purchasing team.
  • Provide updates to management on bid status, risk factors, and winning probability.
  • Attend site visits to gather information necessary for quoting.
  • Maintain a bid tracking system and submit updated logs to the Project Manager.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings throughout the estimating process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Work with internal and external electrical design/engineering teams to obtain accurate and timely specifications for estimating.
  • Maintain knowledge of the ON Electrical Code and stay up to date with industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with customers and prospects to identify new opportunities.
