Description

We’re looking for a detail-driven Electrical Estimator with solid experience in solar PV, battery storage, EV charging systems, and electrical maintenance. This role is vital to supporting the business’s growth by delivering precise, competitive cost estimates and ensuring proposals align with both technical requirements and commercial goals.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical estimating within solar energy, battery storage, EV charging, or related fields.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and renewable technologies.
  • Excellent grasp of industry codes, standards, and electrical design principles.
  • Skilled in estimation tools and proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and contractual documents.
  • Clear, professional communication skills for working with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in cost analysis and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HNC, HND, or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with NEC or JCT contracts is a plus.
  • Membership in professional organisations such as IET or CIBSE is desirable.
Responsibilities
  • Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate costings for electrical and renewable energy projects.
  • Create comprehensive estimates for solar PV installations, battery storage systems, EV charging infrastructure, and electrical maintenance contracts.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate project requirements and feasibility.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to gather competitive pricing and technical information.
  • Produce and submit detailed bid proposals that meet client expectations and regulatory standards.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities to enhance project efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to refine estimates and support project planning.
  • Monitor industry pricing trends, material costs, and changes in regulations to maintain competitive and accurate quoting practices.
  • Support contract negotiations and assist during the project handover phase.
