Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join Lyons Electric, a subsidiary company of Potawatomi Ventures. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry pricing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as deemed necessary. * Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to develop detailed cost estimates. * Contact vendors and subcontractors for pricing and bids * Prepare and submit bid proposals, including labor, materials, and time requirements. * Assist in calculating labor, materials, and equipment costs * Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate scope and pricing. * Conduct site visits to gather data and assess project conditions. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, labor rates, and material costs. * Track and document all estimation activities and maintain historical cost data. * Identify potential cost risks and provide value engineering options. * Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. * Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. * Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites. Education * High School Diploma or GED required, Certification from respected electrical program. Bachelor’s or associate degree in construction management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred. Skills and Experience * Problem assessment and problem solving. * Information gathering and information monitoring. * Attention to detail and accuracy. * Good written and verbal communication * Customer service oriented. * High level of computer skills including, but not limited to estimating software * Strong math and analytical skills Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
