The Specialist Electrical Group Ltd (SEG) are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team at our Hertford Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing and well-respected electrical contractor delivering excellence across the social housing sector.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong proven track record in social housing, working directly with Tier 1 main contractors and end clients.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Proven experience in electrical estimating within social housing.
  • Solid understanding of the construction industry and procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
  • Confident communication skills – able to engage with directors, clients, and consultants.
  • Ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Flexible and proactive approach with strong organisational skills.
    Location: Hertford Head Office
    Contract: Permanent
    Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Responsibilities
  • Support the estimating team with preparation of electrical bids and tenders.
  • Prepare and submit prime cost estimates using estimating software.
  • Review and analyse drawings, specifications, and documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Liaise with engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and clients to develop competitive submissions.
  • Identify alternative design solutions and value engineering opportunities.
  • Manage and organise tender documentation, processes, and negotiations.
  • Maintain and develop supplier and subcontractor relationships.
  • Support and mentor colleagues where required.
  • Monitor targets, deadlines, and workflow.
