Description:
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-10 years estimating experience across the Painting, Insulation and Fireproofing disciplines with Scaffolding, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation being desirable.
- Engineering degree or quantity surveying qualifications desirable
- 2-4 years operational experience in a relevant industry
- Knowledge and expertise of estimating practices, standards, systems and processes relevant to the operations of the project.
- Seasoned communication & coordination skills.
- A fine attention to detail and compliance.
- Experience working within a multi-cultural workforce is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high functioning team.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
UGL are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team and play a pivotal role in estimating electrical works for a major brownfields LNG Project in Karratha. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in electrical estimating within the oil & gas industry, demonstrating expertise in assessing existing facilities, analyzing project requirements, and developing accurate cost estimates.
You will be a local Perth resident, and work a 5/2 roster out of the Perth CBD office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop documentation, templates, processes, and tools to facilitate accurate, informative, and timely responses to client RFPs, ensuring internal approvals prior to submission.
- Review all RFPs, coordinating resources to gain a thorough understanding of the scope and ensuring responses are submitted by the due date.
- Perform quantity take-offs from engineering drawings or reference materials and input data into the estimating system with correct Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Conduct field scoping activities and support constructability reviews pre and post-estimate submission.
- Maintain documentation for all provided estimates and ensure formal transmission of RFP responses, storing estimating data in project management systems.
- Undertake risk assessments for estimates as required by the Project Management team.
- Collaborate with planning to develop logical, resourced level 4 schedules supporting planned works.
- Support transition of estimates into financial and project control systems.
- Conduct verbal and visual handover of each estimate to operations team for efficient knowledge transfer.
