Vickery Electric Contracting Ltd., Canada’s oldest family-owned and operated electrical contracting company, is growing again! We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with Fire Alarm System Expertise to join our team and support a wide range of commercial and industrial projects across the Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area.
For over a century, Vickery Electric has delivered high-quality electrical solutions — from new construction and renovations to service, maintenance, and life safety systems. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a detail-oriented, strategic, and technically knowledgeable estimator to help us win work and deliver excellence.

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects, including fire alarm systems
• Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of work, materials, labour, and time requirements
• Prepare RFQs, RFPs, bid proposals, and budgets in collaboration with project managers and senior leadership
• Source pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, and maintain current cost databases
• Conduct job site visits and pre-bid meetings as required
• Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking
• Support change order pricing and cost analysis throughout the construction lifecycle
• Ensure all estimates comply with OESC, ESA, and relevant safety and building codes
• Liaise with clients, engineers, and vendors to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies
