DEI’s goal is to hire competent, driven, and self-motivated individual that will represent DEI as the main point of contact for our Electrical Team for projects in construction.
QUALIFICATIONS
This role requires a candidate with excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with contractors, owners, architects, and other individuals during the construction period through in person and electronic communication. The role requires someone who acts in a professional manner, is organized, and can enforce contractual requirements when necessary.
The successful candidate needs at minimum 7 to 10 years of construction experience ideally as an Ontario College of Trades licensed Electrician working on relevant construction projects. The individual should have a strong understanding of construction methodology, coordination between trades, and construction details. Candidates need to have an in-depth understanding of relevant electrical codes, construction practices, and the ability to effectively analyze costs (manpower and materials) for changes that occur during construction.
Technically, the successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of electrical systems, fire alarm systems, generators, lighting, power and distribution, communications, wiring methods, etc..
The role will require the successful candidate to be capable of effectively utilizing a variety of software and hardware in their daily tasks, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, etc.), Bluebeam (PDF Editors), 360-degree cameras, regular cameras, etc.
