SALARY: £45,000 - £50,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE + COMPANY ELECTRIC VEHICLE

Our team of Field Service Engineers and Network Performance team provide a full range of maintenance to our stations, and this is the chance to join this market leading team. The successful candidate will be playing a crucial role in the expansion of the network and the continuation of our reputation as best in industry.
InstaVolt are looking to recruit a Southern Based Field Services Manager to oversee the work completed by their team of in-house field engineers in the south, completing the installation and maintenance of DC rapid vehicle chargers. InstaVolt has seen quick growth within our engineering team and this role will be pivotal for InstaVolt to continue as the market leader.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

The role will suit a good leader with the ability to adapt and change in line with the business needs. They will bring with them a sound understanding of electrical testing and fault finding and the willingness to learn about the EV industry.
The role will require the candidate to possess the ability to be able to assist in the design of EV charging infrastructure, the installation of infrastructure should it be required, oversee and have excellent remote management of the field based engineers’ work, assess and counter sign (where required) NICEIC certification in line with the Principle Duty Holders requirements and assist with remote fault finding and additional tasks as required by the business needs.
The role is mainly field based with a requirement for regional and on occasions nationwide travel to conduct site audits, Toolbox talks, van checks and supporting fault findings along with a weekly visit to at our head office in Basingstoke.
The Candidate:
A successful candidate will have the ability to communicate with multiple members of staff, from reporting to the Head of O&M, members of the Network Performance team, Construction team and Project managers. There is also a requirement to effectively communicate with our engineering back office team, warehouse and installation teams to supplement the knowledge base.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE

  • We would be looking for the below in the successful candidate, with the main ability being able to fit into a fast-paced industry and team.
  • Be suitably qualified and experienced in electrical installation and testing works.
  • Be in possession of C&G 2391 or equivalent, along with 18th edition qualifications and to be conversant in BS7671. Ideally would have held the role of a Qualifying Supervisor or Principe Duty Holder previously.
  • The ability to review electrical designs for distribution circuits and work alongside electrical equipment manufacturers to ensure existing products are updated as required to ensure compliance for future works.
  • Oversee a team of field-based engineers and the ability to remotely assist with fault finding, installation and testing should it be required.
  • The willingness to attend sites around the UK to assist in installation work should it be required.
  • Ability to comprehend and adhere to health and safety regulations and standards and hold in an date ISOH or SMSTS certificate
  • A flexible attitude and the ability to quickly adapt to changes and learn new skills and techniques.
  • Provide prompt and co-operative response to reactive fault issues.
  • To be willing to learn about new technology in the industry and provide technical support for the team on a variety of electrical matters.
  • Have a good knowledge of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, OneDrive and Excel
  • Good communication and customer facing skills, with the ability to communicate with a variety of people during your working day.
  • Work with their own initiative and willingly adapt to a changing programme of works as required.
  • The willingness to on-board additional resources as required and the chance to build a market leading team of field service engineers
  • A full, clean driving licence and the desire to learn more about this industry. EV experience isn’t essential but beneficial.
