Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity Our Transmission team works across Aotearoa delivering specialist services that keep New Zealand’s high‑voltage network functioning safely and reliably. This role is based in Taupō, supporting the construction, maintenance and fault response of transmission assets including substations, switchgear, transformers and protection systems. As an Electrical Fitter, you’ll carry out technical installation, repairs, analysis and maintenance activities—ensuring work is completed to a high standard, on time and aligned with Zero Harm expectations. You’ll also support job planning, assess resource requirements, and engage with key internal and external stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes for our clients. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone who enjoys technical work, problem‑solving, and contributing to the performance of New Zealand’s essential energy infrastructure. Mōu koe | About You You’re an electrically qualified professional with experience working on high‑voltage or transmission‑related assets. You take pride in safe, high‑quality workmanship and enjoy working both independently and within a skilled field team. You will bring: Trade qualification in Electrical Fitting Relevant electrical registration and practising licence Strong working knowledge of electrical test equipment, systems and procedures Experience with substations, transformers, switchgear or protection systems Ability to diagnose, rectify and report on electrical faults Solid communication skills, both verbal and written Physical capability to undertake manual, hands‑on field work A current driver’s licence Experience in transmission networks or large electrical infrastructure environments will be highly advantageous.
