As Sage Staffing we are representing a client who is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Electrical General Manager to oversee and manage the operations of their electrical services division.
The Electrical General Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality electrical services to commercial clients, driving customer satisfaction, and leading a team of skilled electricians and electrical technicians. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, codes, and maintenance, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service. The GM will play a key role in the growth and success of the Electrical service line.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Electrical Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the electrical services division, ensuring efficient and timely completion of work orders.
- Lead and Manage Electricians: Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor a team of licensed electricians and electrical technicians, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure Service Quality: Maintain high standards of service delivery, ensuring that all work is performed to client specifications, electrical codes (NEC, local codes), and quality control standards.
- Manage Work Orders: Oversee the efficient and accurate processing of work orders, from initial request to completion and client sign-off.
- Scheduling and Dispatch: Optimize scheduling and dispatching of electrical technicians to maximize efficiency and minimize response times.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients regarding electrical services, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Problem Resolution: Resolve client issues and complaints in a timely and effective manner, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Safety & Code Compliance: Enforce all safety policies and procedures, ensuring that electrical technicians adhere to safe work practices and all applicable electrical safety codes and regulations.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for the electrical services division, controlling costs and maximizing profitability.
- Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of electricians and technicians, providing feedback and implementing performance improvement plans as needed.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on electrical services operations, including work order completion rates, client satisfaction, and financial performance.
Growth and Expansion: Identify opportunities to expand the electrical services division and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance, to provide comprehensive facility management solutions to clients.
Service Offerings:
Manage service offerings, including:
o Electrical repairs and troubleshooting
o Preventative electrical maintenance
o New electrical installations and upgrades
o Lighting systems and controls
o Panel upgrades and circuit additions
o Emergency electrical services
o Compliance with relevant electrical standards and regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing commercial electrical operations or a similar electrical services role.
- Master Electrician license or equivalent certification highly preferred.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of skilled electricians.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and employees.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in electrical project management software and work order relevant technology.
- In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA Certifications (OSHA 30 for Construction preferred)
- Knowledge of commercial building systems and maintenance requirements
- Former Project Management experience in commercial electrical projects.
- Experience with estimating electrical projects.
Working Conditions
- This position may require occasional evening or weekend work.
- The work environment is a combination of office and field settings.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, as required for electrical installations and repairs.
Compensation
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
