Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical systems is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience as an electrical inspector or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and other relevant standards.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installations, maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Electrical Inspections:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of electrical installations and systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Inspect electrical wiring, components, and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend necessary corrective actions.
  • Code Compliance:
  • Ensure all electrical work meets the requirements of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, and other relevant standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all applicable codes and standards.
  • Provide reports documenting compliance or non-compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contractor Oversight:
  • Monitor contractors to ensure that electrical work is performed to project specifications and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Review and approve contractors’ work in progress and completed installations.
  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies identified during inspections.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, findings, and recommendations.
  • Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing necessary documentation for permits and certifications.
  • Safety & Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all electrical systems meet high-quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess ongoing work and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for electrical installations and maintenance.
