JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW

Oversee all installation, maintenance, repair, and upkeep operations for the installation’s automation, instrumentation, Utilities and electrical areas. Responsible for the successful execution of all the instrument and electrical scopes in accordance with the project schedule, cost, and other KPIs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • 6-8 years’ experience of progressively responsible electrical maintenance experience required.
  • Ability to provide direction to electrical and instrumentation teams.
  • Knowledge of the working principle of field instruments, sensors, control valves, transmitters, meters, and gauges
  • Experience working with Industrial Controls, PLC, motor controls, control valves, electrical distribution, and industrial instrumentation for flow, pressure, & temperature
  • Previous experience in commissioning and/or integration of automation systems in manufacturing and/or process environments will be valued.
  • Experience calibrating and maintaining industrial process instrumentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, automation, and instrumentation systems.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with problem solving and action-oriented mindset.
    Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a Preventative Maintenance Plan for the site to ensure expected uptime and reliability.
  • Develop a culture of excellence in your team driving accountability and being “ahead” of the problems through regular inspections, trend analysis, and instrument measurements.
  • Conduct periodic maintenance checks and recommend equipment upgrades/modifications. Investigate equipment breakdowns and monitor the performance of equipment after repairs.
  • Select strategic outside contractors to support the Preventative Maintenance. Plan and ensure round-the-clock service for key elements and/or systems.
  • Maintain material and equipment supplies by regularly monitoring inventory levels, anticipating supply needs, placing, and expediting electrical material orders, and reviewing and approving invoices.
  • Preserve plant and machineries in good working order by following operating instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, keeping supplies on hand, regularly performing preventive maintenance, and promptly scheduling repairs.
  • Meet operational goals by contributing information and recommendations for strategic planning and review, preparing and enacting action plans, maintaining production, productivity, and quality, completing audits, identifying trends, identifying problems, and determining appropriate system improvements and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Achieve electrical maintenance staffing objectives through the recruitment, selection, training, assignment, scheduling, coaching, and discipline of employees. Communicate job expectations. Plan, monitor, evaluate, and review job contributions.
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
  • Ability to provide technical support for a 24-hour operations team and work with other departments of the company, such as Plant Managers and Engineering, as well as with external contractors where needed.
  • Ability to manage external contractors as well as a team of technicians, achieving the expected production goals, in a plant that operates 24/7/365.
  • Maintains all HV power distribution for all facilities.
  • Maintains all plant electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Maintains all residential and camp electrical systems.
  • Improves reliability of the E/I system and identifies critical business risks due to E/I infrastructure.Manages small projects for all infrastructure projects.
