We are seeking an experienced site electrical & instrumentation technician join our IsaKIDD team in Townsville. The electrical & instrumentation technician will work together with the IsaKidd engineering team & plate production team to support on-site cathode plate manufacturing tasks. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to conduct on-site auditing, shop testing and commissioning of electrode handling machines, which are located at our client and vendor’s facilities both domestic and internationally. You will report directly to the IsaKidd Principal Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Support the development, investigation, and implementation of Glencore Technology machine projects (including but not limited to automation) and our other technologies.
Fault-finding, maintenance, and repair of the cathode plate manufacturing facility to ensure optimal operation.
Conduct routine electrode handling machine audits to support our clients and external stakeholders
Troubleshooting and optimizing PLCs, robotics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Maintaining and building strong relationships with clients and suppliers to ensure long-term success.
Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver project goals effectively.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

Mechanical maintenance experience working with PLC, Robotics, pneumatic and Hydraulic machinery
Experience in Copper/Zinc refineries or electrowinning maintenance is highly desirable
Engineering qualification or specific industry and practical experience
Electrical and automation experience is advantageous
Experience in mining and/or mass production is advantageous
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate technical and commercial issues with clients.
