International Paper Vicksburg Mill is currently seeking talented, dedicated people with excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills to fill positions in Maintenance Journeyman I – Electrical or Instrumentation. Starting hourly pay for this position is $39.52. Successful candidates will work in high performance teams and play an active part in improving and sustaining electrical and/or instrumentation reliability at the Vicksburg Mill. Keys to success in this position are a strong emphasis on safety and hazard recognition; effective troubleshooting skills; ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities; and maintain environmental and quality standards. Duties include, but are not restricted to, electrical circuit troubleshooting & repair, conduit & wire installation, lighting repair, PLC troubleshooting & repair, drive troubleshooting & repair, Instrumentation & control valve calibration, troubleshooting replacement & repair. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be currently 18 years of age or older Eligible for employment in the U.S. High School Diploma or GED Basic computer skills Able to function in a team environment. AND one of the following Three (3) years of experience in the following Maintenance Skill Areas: ELECTRICAL or INSTRUMENTATION. OR A degree or certification in ELECTRICAL and/or INSTRUMENTATION Studies IN ADDITION must be willing to meet the following requirements: Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis Wear required safety equipment Operate or work in industrial conditions such as warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, in noisy areas, around heavy machinery, at elevated working surfaces or tight/close spaces with proper safety training and safety protection BENEFITS International Paper offers a competitive benefit package including, but not limited to health care coverage, dental insurance, life insurance, holiday pay, paid vacation, a defined pension benefit and a 401K plan in which the company will match a percent of the contribution.
