Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £40,000 basic per annum
Hours: 3 Shift Pattern – Days, Nights, and Afters
Contract Type: Permanent

JOB OVERVIEW:

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our Chesterfield-based team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining, installing, and repairing electrical systems and machinery within a busy manufacturing environment.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
  • 3–5 years’ industrial or manufacturing electrical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and automated machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficient in diagnosing faults and using specialist testing equipment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Physically capable of working at heights, in confined spaces, and with heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, control panels, wiring, and industrial machinery.
  • Test and calibrate instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs and VFDs, to meet production demands and improve efficiency.
  • Use diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal imaging cameras) to assess condition and identify electrical issues.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe working practices in all maintenance activities.
