Description

OVERVIEW: The midlevel tech uses basic skills, tools, and knowledge to follow clearly defined standard operating procedures. They receive instruction and close supervision of work processes. You will support the development of prototype and concept vehicles, with a strong focus on vehicle electrification, autonomous vehicles, and unmanned vehicle platforms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS: Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Interpret engineering schematics, pin schedules, and loom drawings to construct quality wiring harnesses.
  • Understand and follow IPC 620C wire harness build processes.
  • Maintain clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on various Electronics Lab work products.
  • Perform installation of electrical components onto vehicles.
  • Assist engineers in troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Use typical electronics tools: voltmeter, power supplies, hand tools, soldering iron etc.
  • Apply knowledge of military or motorsports industry wiring loom build techniques and components.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required.

  • Education / training.
  • Provide feedback on product needs and processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Be a team player.
  • Have great attention to detail, dependability, pride in work, initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma

DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience with and ability to use typical electronics tools: oscilloscope, voltmeter, power supplies, hand tools, soldering iron, etc.
  • Printed circuit board assembly and repair experience.
  • Must be able to identify color-coded wires and ID labels.
  • Ability to work on vehicles and equipment, including on top of, underneath, and confined spaces.
  • High Voltage system safety experience.
  • Knowledge of military or motorsports industry wiring loom build techniques and components.
