QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant manufacturing/ engineering qualification HND, BTec or NVQ in maintenance and facility support 18th edition electrical wiring regulations an advantage or ability to upgrade earlier editions electrical wiring regulations
  • Or have completed a fully indentured apprenticeship with a mechanical/ electrical / electronic discipline
  • Safety qualifications (IOSH) and practical experience
  • Knowledge and experience of lean methodology and process improvements
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Results driven with excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate activities of a multi-disciplined team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office required
  • Prepared to work unsociable hours and holds a current driving license

    Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

Currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician with an electrical bias, the maintenance technician will coordinate the day to day requirement’s and activities for the facility incorporating safety, operational support and production support. Lead process improvements that optimise team working to achieve targets, quality levels and premier customer service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that facility activities are conducted in a safe manner and comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety Legislation
  • Installation of electrical suppliers to relevant installation regulations
  • Weekly hot and cold-water checks to legionella control requirements
  • Coordinate the day-to-day facility activities within the facility to meet maximum operational support and production effectiveness
  • Involvement in the future planning of facility infrastructure and production requirements and ensuring smooth transition of projects
  • Ensure that facility support is achieved through effective planning, Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and task coordination
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering and operations to ensure expectations are understood and standards maintained
  • Set up and maintain visual management systems and team improvement boards that drive business success
  • Undertake problem solving activities across the business
  • Maintain a positive, disciplined, engaged and empowered team environment
  • Utilizing High Performance Teams (HPT principles)
  • Promote effective lean principles and be a driving influence in the process of continual improvement
  • Take part in any problem-solving teams kaizen events
  • Identify and notify management of any future issues
  • Fully engage in any in-house or off-site training deemed necessary by management
