As an Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Technician you will be directly involved in the production electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical space flight assemblies. This position will require frequent coordination with Planning & Production Control, Manufacturing Engineers, and Operations Leads to ensure that material will be available when needed and that proper documentation is in place for floor operations. Primary Responsibilities: Candidates will be required to have knowledge of the tools used for electro-mechanical assembly (torque drivers, crimpers, strippers) and the proper techniques required to use these tools. Basic experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation. Candidate must have experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians to develop a build strategy and identify any problems that could occur during assembly. Candidate must have experience working in team environment and interacting with different functions project teams and productions teams. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations Leads, and Inventory Control. Expedite jobs as required & clearing any material Shortages. Manage ISO9001/AS9100 processes within our department. Basic Qualifications: Candidate must have a High School Diploma/GED with 1-3 years of electrical/mechanical assembly experience. Working knowledge of specialized tools and equipment used during the assembly process. Ability to read drawings or basic knowledge of reading schematics. Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area. Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with test operations including set-up, calibration & operation of GSE used in the production process. Experience with manufacturing, assembly, integration & test processes, procedure development & implementation. Hands-on experience with electronics assembly processes and equipment including some of these: Mechanical assembly, epoxy dispensing and curing, component/assembly test, etc. Experience working inside a clean room.
