Job Description We are seeking a skilled professional to provide expertise in the planning and implementation of electrical and mechanical maintenance for all building plant and machinery. This role involves the installation of equipment, test rigs, and mains services. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of electrical components, safety codes, and regulations. They must be professional, technically proficient, and mechanically adept. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to crawl, climb, and stand for extended periods, and to operate tools safely near electrical components. Key responsibilities include responding to maintenance requests, ensuring high standards of safety and durability, providing technical support and fault finding for the paint plant and test rigs, performing tests and inspections, and maintaining comprehensive records of maintenance and EH&S activities. The candidate will also participate in accident investigations, provide electrical awareness training, and manage a computerised PPM maintenance management system. Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the motivation to make decisions based on technical documents are essential. Flexibility to respond to emergencies and complete other facilities maintenance tasks is also required. Qualifications Education and Experience: 18th Edition wiring regulations – Essential Work based apprenticeship or vocational training Knowledge of national, state and local electrical codes and regulations Strong verbal and written communication skills Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions Able to perform physically demanding tasks, lifting, climbing ladders, crawling, work at height (roofs) etc. Essential: Wide experience of maintenance activities Expert knowledge on electrical and mechanical installations (and test rigs) Desirable: Skills and knowledge in other building trades IOSH / NEBOSH qualification Asbestos awareness/Legionella management training/Access platform & working at height Plumbing skills
