ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (EMT)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Electrical Maintenance Technician (EMT) installs, maintains, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs Industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls

REQUIREMENTS:

• Certified Industrial Electrician Red Seal ticket

• Follows internal and provincial safety policies and standards.
• Reviews Work Order assignments daily, executes and documents daily activities within our ERP Maintenance system
• Actively participates in daily department meetings
• Performs PM and PM tasks as scheduled; generates Work Orders for items identified as requiring attention outside the PM.
• Reviews PM tasks and verifies that they address failure modes; recommends changes as part of continuous improvement
• Follows Equipment Stores’ procedures for obtaining parts
• Contacts suppliers as appropriate for technical support and clarification for procurement of parts as required
• Maintains a clean personal workspace and work areas; participates in weekly shop cleaning schedule
• Maintains assigned tools, equipment and instruments in good working order
• Maintains up-to-date building and equipment documentation in Maintenance Library as well as electronically
• Communicates with incoming shift regarding current issues to ensure proper hand-off
• Performs other duties as scheduled
