JOB TITLE: ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER - WATER (AMP8)

Location: Southern Region (Southern Water & Affinity Water Schemes)
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Contract (12 Months)
Pay Rate: £550

JOB OVERVIEW:

A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of AMP8 projects across Southern Water and Affinity Water frameworks. This is a long-term contract role, ideal for an engineer with a strong electrical background in water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Project Engineer within the water industry or similar infrastructure sector.
  • Strong understanding of LV electrical systems, MCCs, ICA, and pump station controls.
  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience with AMP frameworks - highly desirable.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations - desirable.
  • ECS or CSCS card - preferred.
  • Strong project coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee electrical engineering aspects of clean and wastewater projects from design through to commissioning.
  • Review and interpret electrical designs, ensuring compliance with specifications and water industry standards.
  • Support the coordination between design, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of electrical components and installations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on all electrical works.
  • Conduct site inspections and support commissioning and handover processes.
