Electrical Superintendent

JOB SUMMARY:
A major client is asking us to provide a superintendent to oversee electrical portions of a new industrial construction project. The superintendent will oversee and coordinate electrical subcontractor activities to assure compliance with the project scope, schedule, and budget. The superintendent will work in a plant construction environment under the direction of the client’s Project Manager on site. This role requires strong electrical project expertise and excellent coordination skills with design engineers, subcontractors, end clien t engineers, site supervisors, and other project stakeholders.

REIMBURSEMENT: Good hourly rate with weekly OT, plus per diems for out-of- owners

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Electro-mechanical Engineering (OR solid training and experience managing industrial electrical installations).
- Minimum of 8 years of electrical project oversight experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction processes, laws, standards, and regulations.
- Successful background maintaining high safety standards and delivering quality outcomes.
- Strong electrical background in industrial construction or manufacturing is required.
- Good understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and change management.
- Prior experience managing portions of commercial or industrial project scopes of at least $15M in value.
- Experience in the automotive industry is strongly preferred but not required.
- Technical familiarity with the following types of facilities systems:
o Medium-, and low-voltage industrial power distribution, including substations and switchgear, transformers, cables, cable trays, and terminations
o Power and control systems for fire alarms, boilers, pumps, air compressors, HVAC, highting, lifting systems, etc.
o Industrial interior and exterior lighting
o Fire protection, cameras, data, and security systems
o Knowledge and experience with control system components and wiring would be beneficial. PLC programming will not be required.
- Ability to read and interpret single-line wiring diagrams, schematic wiring diagrams, electrical equipment location drawings, plan drawings, installation detail drawings, etc.
- Ability to read and understand calculations and studies for electrical power systems, such as short circuit studies and electrical coordination studies.
- Ability to verify electrical drawings and installations for compliance with customer, industry, and government standards and specs.
- Familiarity with Gantt chart scheduling, and identification and mitigation of schedule risks.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Demonstrate effective teamwork, maintain a professional demeanor, and foster positive relationships inside and outside the team.
