ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Along with Lakeland Power, Lakeland Generation and Lakeland Networks, Lakeland Solutions is one of the four subsidiaries of Lakeland Holding Ltd., dedicated to providing sustainable solutions for the electrical energy industry, delivering value to a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Director of Lakeland Solutions, we are seeking an experienced and innovative Electrical Project Manager to join our team and assist with our newest project, Lakeland EV Charging, where we are developing an EV charging network across our territory. Additionally, the successful candidate would be required to assist with ongoing monitoring, operations and maintenance of our existing assets, including Solar and Battery Energy Storage systems. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering Technician/Technologist Certification is required.
  • Experience in electrical engineering, project management and/or construction management is required.
  • A valid ‘G’ License with a clean driver abstract.
  • Proven ability to identify challenges and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Renewable Energy Resources and non-wire alternatives is considered an asset.
  • Experience in government funding and regulatory environment is considered an asset.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel, is a requirement.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the maintenance, operation and theory of electricity, computers & electronics.
  • Must be adept at interacting constructively (both verbal and written) with customers and other employees.
  • Proficiency in occupational health and safety legislation, safe work practices, work protection codes, and other safety policies and procedures, including First Aid/CPR and WHMIS.
  • Knowledge of the Electrical Distribution Infrastructure is considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate delivery schedules and logistics.
  • Assist with configuration and installation of assets (EV chargers, batteries, solar panels, etc.)
  • Able to create computer-aided design drafting (AutoCAD).
  • Understand and provide basic programming for SCADA systems with DNP3 and MODBUS protocols.
  • Assist with EV Charger commissioning.
  • Have experience Reading/interpreting electrical engineered drawings and communicating with engineers.
  • Complete field inspections to determine the condition of assets and compliance with standard construction.
  • Must be able to work safely following all Regulations, company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Track project progress, resolve issues, and manage changes.
  • Create purchase order(s) and maintain project account(s).
  • Order materials and coordinate with suppliers and vendors.
  • Revise, update, and create reports.
  • Conduct site visits to gather field data for design or records purposes and final reporting.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
  • Work with Microsoft-based software such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively and safely in a team setting and individually.
  • Work within company values and policies at all times.
  • Think creatively and propose new solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
