We are currently looking for an Electrical Project Manager to join our Engineering supporting our operational business across the region, based out of our sites in the Northern region. You may live in the North East or perhaps the North West so whether you live Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Darlington or Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds this role may work for you

Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager the role of Electrical Project Manager will be responsible for providing best in class electrical engineering and project management services to the operating business, innovating cost effective solutions in a consistent manner throughout the region. You will also ensure the company electrical standards meet minimum legal requirements, CRH life saving rules and are cost effective and comply with any legislation changes.

As Electrical Project Manager you will also be responsible for:

  • Supporting project managers in providing electrical designs cost estimates and drawings to support capital projects
  • Supporting operational staff with any electrical maintenance / improvements within the operational sites
  • Representing your region at monthly and national meetings with our Statutory responsibilities
  • Statutory Electrical Maintenance within your geographical region
  • Managing and monitoring the company electrical standards, site electrical maintenance schemes and electrical procedures in the region to ensure they meet minimum legal requirements, CRH life saving rules and are cost effective and comply with any legislation changes
  • Appointing and approving all electrical competent staff and supporting contractor companies for electrical work within your region (auditing companies to ensure compliance on standards)
  • Ensuring projects are designed to achieve the lowest cost of ownership possible, through the whole life of the asset
  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders at all level
  • Identifying opportunities for cost saving projects and developing solutions with a focus on innovation solutions
  • Driving implementation and ensure compliance with best practice engineering procedures
  • Supporting plant development and automation including energy reduction programs
  • Ensuring that projects are fully compliant with the Tarmac policy and appropriate standards and legislation

Suitable candidates for the role of Electrical Project Manager will also have:

  • Drawing Skills and experience of process design and control
  • Working knowledge of Project Management process
  • Ability to estimate and scope work
  • HV and LV installations, Earthing studies, MCC and VSD standards
  • PLC control and automation experience
  • Contract Placement and Management
  • Proven ability to collaborate and drive engagement
  • Demonstrates self awareness and resilience
  • Business insight and the ability to manage complex situations in a resourceful manner
  • Confidence to drive accountability and develop talent
  • Concrete, Aggregate, Asphalt & Sand and Gravel Process Knowledge advantageou
