ABOUT THE ROLE

The role involves assisting in electrical design reviews, input into development of technical standards, installation quality and safety inspections and audits across asset installation and maintenance activities within the Asset Operations team. You will support key stakeholders to ensure business objectives are met, focusing on the quality and safety of Energy Solutions-related electrical infrastructure and assets.
You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the safety, workmanship, product quality, and overall installation quality of assets. This includes inspections at local, regional, and interstate sites for both third-party and Ampol-owned assets.
Semi-regular field-based interactions with site representatives and service providers will be necessary to ensure safe operations, cost-effective outcomes, and compliance with Ampol and statutory regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect, review, and generate detailed reports for electrical equipment, including the evaluation of installation, testing, issue identification, and repair of electronic, electrical, and electro-mechanical products to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide expert guidance and comprehensive training to installation and maintenance providers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet industry standards and perform tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Identify discrepancies between National and company standards and customer installations and provide recommendations for the rectification of any issues identified to ensure compliance and proper functionality of the electrical systems.
  • Actively participate in root cause analysis processes, offering insightful recommendations to address issues and help enhance procedures, policies, and agreements, ensuring they align with both industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a robust Quality Management System for electrical equipment, encompassing installation, maintenance, and disposal activities, while ensuring consistent reporting, data collection, and adherence to the latest electrical standards across Australia.
