JOB SUMMARY

Superior Safety Codes is seeking an Electrical Safety Codes Officer to join our Inspection Services Team in Grande Prairie or surrounding area.

You will examine plans, specifications and related technical documents and conduct inspections of residential, commercial buildings and Oil Field Services to insure conformance is to regulations. You will be responsible for enforcement under the Safety Codes Act, all related codes and regulations. You will conduct field inspections, investigate complaints, liaise with contractors, homeowners and Municipal Staff regarding permit status and infractions/deficiencies.

Must have the ability to:

• Make decisions impartially and quickly.
• Provide great customer service.
• Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports on all site inspections.
• Interpret and enforce regulations impartially and tactfully.
• Understand and execute oral and written instructions.
• Write and interpret technical reports.
• Prioritize workload efficiently by using organizational and time management skills.
• Use a Tablet/iPad to generate reports, letters and related documentation.

The SCO must be professional, self-motivated, conscientious, and able to work independently in a team environment. Out-of-town travel will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

You must have obtained your Electrical Group A Certification from the Safety Codes Council. Applicants must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and provide a current drivers abstract. Must be willing to sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
