We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Security Systems Technician to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record in the installation, programming, commissioning, testing, and servicing of a wide range of security systems, including alarms, CCTV, intercoms, access control, and integrated solutions. This role requires strong hands-on experience, relevant industry certifications, and the ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with efficiency and professionalism.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Mandatory Certifications & Licences:
  • Current Security Licence
  • Cabling Licence (Open Registration)
  • White Card (Construction Induction Safety)
  • Working with Children Check
  • Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Experience & Expertise:
  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a Security Systems Technician.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of systems such as Tecom, Integriti, Inception, Concept, SALTO, Hills Reliance, Paradox, and Bosch alarm panels.
  • Proficient in both analogue and IP-based CCTV systems including Milestone, Digifort, Hikvision, Dahua, Samsung, Pelco, and Axis.
  • Skilled in the setup and support of IP video and intercom systems.
  • Capable of staging, installing, commissioning, programming, and troubleshooting all aspects of electronic security and integrated systems.
  • Additional Considerations:
  • Experience working with local government agencies and diplomatic missions is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with quoting processes and supporting project planning and execution is advantageous.

Responsibilities
  • Installation & Commissioning:

Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and programming of a wide range of security systems including alarms, CCTV, intercoms, access control, and integrated systems. Proficiency with systems such as Tecom Challenger, Integriti, Bosch, and Tecom C4 is essential.

  • Service & Maintenance:

Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure the ongoing reliability and compliance of alarm and CCTV systems.

  • Technical Support & Client Liaison:

Provide technical support to key clients, ensuring clear communication, high-quality service delivery, and the preparation of ad-hoc quotations when required.

  • Reporting & Documentation:

Assist in the creation and maintenance of system documentation, security reports, and system matrices to support internal processes and compliance requirements.

  • Troubleshooting & Field Repairs:

Respond to service call-outs promptly. Diagnose and resolve faults across a range of electronic security system components with minimal disruption to clients.

  • Autonomous Work Ethic:

Demonstrate the ability to work independently and unsupervised while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and meeting industry and client standards.

  • Team Collaboration:

Collaborate effectively with the technical team to manage service tickets and address client requests in a timely and professional manner.
