Why You Will Love this Job: Primary Function and Scope The candidate will be responsible for supporting the design, development, validation, and implementation of generator harnesses. The harnesses will connect Rehlko controllers with sensors, switches, ECMs, alternators or other accessories. The candidate would be responsible for the technical directions for the Rehlko organization regarding generator set electrical harness design and performance. Serve as a technical expert for engineering as well as other functional areas within the organization. Have the ability to address questions regarding the feasibility of potential applications and serves to provide technical guidance for units in the field. BASIC FUNCTIONS: Lead or support implementation of electrical components or electronic systems on Rehlko generator platforms, including validation, testing, and postproduction support. Develops and executes test specifications and test procedures to validate or verify component or system function. Work with cross functional teams to implement electrical and controls systems. Troubleshoot failures and work with suppliers to resolve issues. Make recommendations for product improvements. ROLE RESPONSIBILITES: Independently develop professional, manufacturable, and cost effective wire harness designs. Develop wire harness routing using SEE electrical, ensuring all harnesses are routed safely and securely mounted. Develop clear, readable wire harness drawings, in SEE electrical, conforming to customer and industry drafting standards Interface with wire harness suppliers to address Design for Manufacturability issues. Design brackets and other mounting fixtures to secure wire harnesses and related electromechanical devices in a generator. Drive continuous improvement with updates to the generator set sizing program, standardization of technical publications, and captive toolset improvements. Proficiency with Windchill, SAP, AutoCAD, SEE Electrical, and/or Creo will be critical to long term success. Support the education of internal and external stakeholders, especially new associates with limited power experience. Participate in design reviews and design FMEA’s. Provides technical guidance and design direction to CAD Analysts. Demonstrates teamwork, communicate effectively. Develops documents and achieves product specifications for customers, regulatory, and technical requirements Delivery of project work to time cost and quality. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution 7+ years of work experience 1+ years of related experience in power systems design Software experience with SEE, AutoCAD, CREO Cable, SAP, or PTC Windchill is a plus. Knowledge of designing to the National Electrical Code (NEC) Standards is a plus. Supervisory Relationships: Reports to Manager – Electrical Engineering, Global NPD Provides technical direction and leads activities of associates to complete technical tasks. Organizational and External Relationships: Organizational Frequent contact with Engineers, Engineering Analysts, Lab Technicians, CAD operators and offshore resources. Occasional contact with the Service Department concerning field failure and remedies. Frequent contact with Purchasing Department pertaining to vendor specifications and prices. Occasional contact with Manufacturing Engineering to establish methods and tooling. Occasional contact with Production Planning, Purchase Parts, Inspection, and Receiving Department on prototype and production parts. External Contact various outside suppliers who provide electrical connectors or components. Contact various engineering departments to discuss technical specifications and technical challenges.
