JOB DESCRIPTION

As a key leadership position of the Electrical team, the person will participate fully in the success of AKD by living its agreed core values in word and deed, adhering fully to agreed social contracts and providing the organisation and its people with clear leadership.
The role acts to ensure safe and effective electrical systems of work, deliver and maintain fit for purpose electrical control systems and infrastructure, deliver best practice electrical control systems, provide site-wide direction for electrical for 24/7 team including apprentices, and control systems, and actively engage, lead and influence electrical team to achieve high performance.
We believe the position will best suit someone with a keen eye for detail, strong leadership focus on people and process, and will have strong organisational and communication skills to effectively support the Electrical team.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Completed leadership / management course and/or automation and electrical project related training
  • Undertake or be prepared to undertake AKD LEAD program
  • Extensive fault finding and breakdown experience
  • Certificate 4 in Electro-technology
  • Certificate 3 in Electrotechnology
  • 5+ years’ experience in automation and electrical in an industrial workplace with a high level of diligence in quality outcomes
  • Develop, mentor and guide automation and electrical apprentices
Responsibilities

  • Deliver the highest possible performance of all parts of the Site together with fellow members of the Site Leadership Team
  • Maintain optimum availability of site electrical equipment and control systems.
  • Deliver the Electrical Department components of the Caboolture Business Plan.
  • Continuous improvement of the Electrical Systems, Controls and Infrastructure to support the Caboolture Business Plan
  • Assure electrical compliance and control standards are in place, adhered to or exceeded across the site
  • Ensure succession and individual development for all subordinates
  • Drive, communicate and develop an effective working relationship with other maintenance teams.
  • Drive change management as we move towards more predictive maintenance techniques
