DESCRIPTION

The Electrical Supervisor reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises and leads electricians.
  • Assigns and schedules work activities of electricians, ensuring that preventative maintenance and calls are responded to quickly and efficiently.
  • Coordinates job scheduling with all levels of hospital personnel and outside contractors including shutdowns of electrical service and generator testing.
  • Evaluates the condition of electrical equipment and distribution systems to create a plan to repair or replace.
  • Supervises work performed to assure it conforms with established procedures, policies, codes and regulations.
  • Directs department employees in proper performance of electrical testing.
  • Establishes and implements plans for safety training for employees in the department.
  • Supervises repair of electrical work performed on all non-patient related equipment.
  • Supervises the electrical installation of new equipment.
  • Monitors and observes electrical work performed by outside contractors for compliance with hospital standards.
  • Responds to all fire and disaster alarms.
  • Works with the Safety Officer to provide a reliable fire system and electrical system.
  • Performs tests on electrical equipment and documents results.
  • Remains current regarding code requirements and changes in local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Remains current on NFPA and National Electrical Codes dealing with fire alarm systems and Life Safety Codes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
