Description
The Opportunity We're looking for a highly capable, electrical supervisor. This role is open to all nationalities (UAE / Gulf experience preferred). What you'll do Lead, supervise, and coordinate installation, testing, and commissioning of all electrical systems (LV/MV distribution, lighting, power, earthing, ELV, emergency systems). Ensure full compliance of electrical works with DEWA regulations, BS 7671, IEC standards, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, and project specifications. Oversee daily site activities, manage electrical teams (foremen, technicians, electricians, helpers), and allocate resources efficiently. Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and ensure workmanship meets approved shop drawings and material submittals. Supervise electrical testing (insulation resistance, continuity, earth loop impedance, polarity, load testing) and witness commissioning with consultants/authorities. Troubleshoot electrical faults, system issues, and coordinate quick resolutions to minimize downtime. Enforce strict safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, permit-to-work, arc flash safety) per UAE Labour Law and Civil Defence requirements. Monitor progress against schedule, report delays, and coordinate with planning/project management for recovery actions. Manage snagging, defect rectification, and ensure zero-snag handover of electrical systems. Liaise with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and DEWA inspectors for inspections, approvals, and technical clarifications. Train and mentor junior staff, electricians, and helpers on electrical installation standards and safety practices. Maintain daily logs, progress reports, material usage records, and test documentation for MEP handover packages. Support value engineering and cost-control initiatives for electrical scope without compromising quality/safety. Coordinate with other MEP trades (mechanical, plumbing) and disciplines (architectural, structural, ID) for clash-free integration. Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 5–8 years hands-on supervisory experience in electrical installations for MEP projects in UAE (high-rise, commercial, residential preferred). Strong knowledge of DEWA regulations, BS 7671, IEC, Dubai Green Building Regulations, and Civil Defence standards. Proficiency in reading electrical drawings, SLDs, and using testing equipment (megger, earth tester, clamp meter). Proven leadership & team management skills; ability to supervise large electrical crews. Good understanding of ELV systems (fire alarm, CCTV, BMS, access control) and emergency power (generators, UPS). Excellent English communication (Arabic is a plus). Valid UAE driving license preferred.
