Are you ready to design the future of bespoke electrical systems? Join our dynamic design and production team in Talgarth as an Electrical System Design Engineer, where you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting tailored solutions for our cutting-edge environmental test chambers.
From concept to commissioning, you’ll collaborate with project managers, engineers, sales, and workshop teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective electrical designs.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in electrical system design within machine manufacturing
  • Background in control panel and safety system design in industrial or mechanical environments
  • Experience in component specification and procurement
  • Proficiency in CAD design and knowledge of electrical standards
  • PLC programming experience is a strong advantage
  • Experience with environmental test chambers is beneficial but not essential

Responsibilities
  • Create detailed schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD software
  • Specify and select components including PLCs, controllers, switchgear, lighting, safety systems, and sensors
  • Prepare comprehensive parts lists and coordinate with purchasing for timely procurement
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety codes, and regulations
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate electrical systems into full project builds
  • Support manufacturing and commissioning, including troubleshooting
  • Assist with project estimations, quotations, and technical documentation
  • Contribute to design reviews and validation testing
  • Stay updated on industry developments, standards, and compliance
  • Provide technical support to sales and service teams
  • Produce electrical system risk assessments
