We’re currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent Electrical Systems Engineer.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a part of a strong, multi-disciplinary technical team, and reporting to the Electrical Systems Technical Lead, the Electrical Systems Engineer will work with the design and building community in the commercial, institutional, and residential sectors. The successful applicant will provide technical expertise in strategizing and positioning in the planning, organizing, monitoring, and coordination of customer focused demand side management programs. Technologies of focus for this position will include, but are not limited to, lighting and lighting control systems, solar photovoltaics, battery storage, energy management systems, demand response ready technologies, and high-performance buildings in Manitoba.
REQUIREMENTS
- A four-year degree from a university of recognized standing majoring in Electrical Engineering, plus a minimum of four years related experience.
- Eligible for registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
- Certifications in energy efficiency, sustainability, and electrical design fields such as CMVP, CEM®, LEED® BD&C and/or professional certifications are an asset; please provide relevant certificates of qualification.
- Proven experience in design and review of electrical building systems and controls.
- Good working knowledge of electrical engineering principles as they relate to building electrical systems and energy efficiency.
- A diversity of experience with both commercial and residential electrical systems is an asset.
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, National Energy Code for Buildings, and National Building Code are an asset.
- Familiarity with standards, as published by standard development organizations such as IESNA / CSA / NFPA / IEEE, related to electrical systems are an asset.
- A working knowledge of building energy modelling, CAD, and BIM applications, building automation and control systems, and energy monitoring would be considered an asset.
- Experience with building systems commissioning and functional testing would be considered an asset.
- Proven ability to independently plan, organize, and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and commitments.
- Demonstrated diplomacy and tact with proven capability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with all levels of internal and external interested parties.
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach to work with excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, both in person and virtually.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneNote). A working knowledge of VBA and Python scripting would be considered an asset.
- Effective time management skills and ability to shift focus between a multitude of projects and priorities.
- Must possess a valid Manitoba driver’s license.

The salary range for this position ranges from $80,030.32 to $110,430.58 annually. Please note that only candidates with a recognized engineering degree and professional engineering registration (P.Eng.) in Manitoba will be eligible for this salary range.
